PUT/v1/uploads/{upload_id}/parts/{n}

Send an upload part

upload_part

The body is the bytes of part n (application/octet-stream). The size must be exactly part_size, and for the last part it is the remainder (size - (part_count - 1) × part_size); any other size, or a number outside 1…part_count, returns 400 uploads.part_invalid. Sending the same part again replaces it, and parts can be sent in parallel and in any order. The response has the SHA-256 of the part and an ETag with the same value. A part sent after complete returns 409 uploads.state_conflict, and after the upload expires, 410 uploads.expired. Added in 1.62.0.

Authentication

Send an API key in the Authorization header: Authorization: Bearer <key>.

Path parameters

  • upload_idstringrequired

The upload ID (upl_ followed by 32 hex characters).

    length ≤ 64

  • nintegerrequired

The part number, from 1 to part_count.

    ≥ 1, ≤ 1000

Request body

application/octet-stream

string (application/octet-stream)

Responses

200The part is received.

Response headers

  • ETag

The ETag of an upload part, the SHA-256 of its content in quotes.

  • RateLimit-Policy

Limits in effect, in the format of the IETF draft draft-ietf-httpapi-ratelimit-headers: comma-separated items "<name>";q=<quota>;w=<window in seconds>. key is the request rate of the API key (the quota is the burst, the window is the time to refill it fully; for a session it is user, without credentials ip); minute, day and month are the organization's quotas for the calendar minute, day and month in UTC.

  • RateLimit

What is left of each limit in RateLimit-Policy: "<name>";r=<remaining>;t=<seconds until reset>.

  • X-RateLimit-Limit

Limit of the strictest entry in RateLimit-Policy (the one with the fewest requests left).

  • X-RateLimit-Remaining

Requests left under the strictest limit.

  • X-RateLimit-Reset

Seconds until the strictest limit resets.

application/json

Object: UploadPart

  • nintegerrequired

    The part number.

    ≥ 1

  • sizeinteger (int64)required

    The part size in bytes.

  • sha256stringrequired

    The SHA-256 of the part.

  • etagstringrequired

The part ETag, the SHA-256 in quotes.

400The request is invalid: a parameter value or the state of the object does not allow the action (`detail` is a message).

Error codes

Codes this endpoint can return in error.code, besides the general codes of every request.

Rate limits

Responses carry the RateLimit and RateLimit-Policy headers and the earlier X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining and X-RateLimit-Reset. A 429 response has Retry-After in seconds: wait and retry.
